1 lb of butter (454 grams)

2 cups of sugar

3 cups all purpose flour

6 eggs

2 tsps of vanilla

½ cup of sour cream

1 pinch of salt

Place the butter into the mixing bowl. Now save the paper that the butter is wrapped in since we will use it later on. Make sure that the butter is warm and has been out of the fridge for a few hours before starting recipe.

Then, batter the butter for 2-5 minutes. Make sure to scrape the butter towards the center to make sure it all gets battered evenly. Then, add the sugar slowly (as shown in video) while it batters. Then, once more, scrape the butter towards the center and continue to batter.

In the meantime, heat oven to 350 degrees.

Add the eggs in the batter one by one. After, add the ½ cup of sour cream into the batter. Then add the two tbsps of vanilla and pinch of salt.

Before adding the flour, make sure to sift it in order to maintain a smooth texture. Little by little, pour the flour into the batter (as shown in video). Then scrape everything into the center of the batter bowl and batter one last time.

Now for the baking pan (you can use one as the one shown in video or whichever you prefer. Grab the butter wrapper and apply the excess butter on it to the baking pan. Then, apply some flour in order to avoid the cake sticking to the pan.

Then pour the batter into the baking pan and even it out with a spoon. Then, tap the baking pan onto the counter in order to remove any air bubbles (as shown in video). Then, place in the oven for 1 hour. To be sure that the pound cake is ready, insert a knife, if it comes out clean it means the cake is ready.

Once baked, take the cake out and let it cool for 30 minutes. Now the cake is ready to eat! Bon appetit!
