Open Doors

It Started with “can I sit there?”
Into a blue-eyed glistening stare
Often warned to protect my heart
But I got hit by cupid’s dart
Managed to keep my guard on
Didn’t know I grew too fond
So I let myself fall
Just another built up wall
You slowly somehow flew away
I wondered why day by day
One encounter was all it took
To know the ending of this book
Hung up on an old romance
I never really stood a chance
I don’t resent you anymore
I’m opening up another door
